We believe in being faithful through giving to God in obedience to what He has said in His Word, the Bible. Lives are blessed through generosity. Tithes and offerings are two ways of giving.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10
Everything we have on this earth has been given to us by God. It is ours to do with as we wish. But we have a challenge. Malachi 3:10 is the only place in the entire Bible where we are instructed to test God. We are allowed to test God by tithing; if we give to our Church on a regular basis, we WILL see more returned to us than we give, promised by God’s own word. The test is not our Tithing; the test is our belief in the true word of God.
The Difference Between Tithes and Offerings
Tithing is a donation to the church on a regular basis, which will pay for the upkeep of the church, its staff and its mission work. An offering is not expected to be regular, and may be designated for a specific item, ministry or mission. Offerings are normally an amount over and above the regular tithing amount.
How Much Should I Tithe?
The amount is not set in the Bible. Many Christians can give more than 10% and some can only give a small amount. It should be a regular amount that you can afford.
A common question is, should I tithe from my gross income, or my net income. It depends. Do you want God to bless your net income or your gross income?
